Babywise is a personal tracking companion for the Babywise parenting method. It exists to help one set of parents track one baby's feeding, sleeping, diaper, and growth data, and to surface book-grounded guidance in context. This page explains what we collect, where it lives, and who can see it.
What we collect
- Account identifier. The email address you use to sign in. We do not store a password; we authenticate via Supabase Auth (Sign in with Apple, Google OAuth, or email code).
- Baby details you enter in the welcome flow or Settings: name (optional), birth date, sex (only collected if you opt into weight tracking), feeding method, units preference.
- Events you log: feeds, sleeps, diapers (if enabled), weights (if enabled). Each event carries the time it happened, its duration, and any optional note you wrote.
- Preferences: dark mode setting, per-device notification preference, AI-sharing consent, and milestones already celebrated.
- Push notification identifier (only if you enable notifications): the opaque browser endpoint or Apple Push Notification service device token used to deliver a notification to that device. This is routing metadata, not your phone number.
We do not collect: phone contacts, location, payment details, photos, voice, or any health data we don't explicitly list above. We do not place any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the app.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored in our Supabase project (Postgres database hosted on AWS in the EU region). Supabase is operated by Supabase Inc.; their privacy practices are at supabase.com/privacy. Your device also keeps a local copy of your most recent data so recent information can remain visible during short connection interruptions. New logs require a connection and are blocked while the device is offline so they cannot silently fail to sync.
The Ask-the-bot feature
When you ask the bot a question, we send your question plus a limited snapshot of your baby's current state (age band, whether feeding/sleeping/awake, recent timing, and active alert titles) to our language-model provider (DeepSeek, with automatic fallback to Google Gemini). We ask for your explicit permission before the first question, and you can withdraw it at any time in Settings. We do not send your baby's name, your email, your event history, or any identifier that could tie the question back to you. The provider's privacy policy applies to that one message: DeepSeek / Google.
Who can see your data
Only authenticated members of your family can see its data. Two parents may connect separate accounts using a one-time family code; both then see the same baby and events. Do not share an invitation code with anyone you do not want to grant access.
The app maintainer has administrative access to the Supabase project for the purpose of operating the app (bug fixes, backups, debugging on request). The maintainer does not look at individual households' data routinely; access is only exercised when needed to keep the service running.
Sub-processors
- Supabase — database + authentication hosting.
- Vercel — web hosting + serverless functions.
- DeepSeek and Google Gemini — language model for the Ask-the-bot feature, called only when you submit a question.
- Push delivery services — Apple Push Notification service for the iPhone app, or Apple, Google, or Mozilla browser push services for the web app. We send only the notification title, body, routing tag, and in-app destination needed to deliver the alert you enabled.
We require service providers to protect information consistently with this policy and applicable law, and to use it only to provide their services to Babywise.
Retention and deletion
Your data is retained while your account exists. You can export everything to CSV from Settings → Account. You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete account and data. The authenticated request immediately deletes your login and family membership; if you are the final family member, it also deletes the household, baby profile, events, invitations, and push subscriptions. If another family member remains, the shared household and its events remain available to that member.
Children's data
The app is operated by parents about their own baby. Babywise is not directed at children under 13 and we don't market the app to them. The baby's name (if you enter one) and timing data are stored only as needed for the app's scheduling features.
Changes
If we change what we collect or who has access, we update this page and its "Last updated" date. Where required, we will request fresh consent before using information in a materially different way.
